Story
GlobalMart sensed a boom in its business more than a year ago and started investing in technology to support business operations run smoothly.
It has built a front end web application on top of MS-SQL Server, a well known relational database. It also offers a mobile app also interacting with the MS-SQL Server database for storing to and retrieving transaction data from it.
With business running smoothly on the newly created tech stack, GlobalMart started focusing on the next important business strategy - Data driven decision making. For the last 6 months, It has started recruiting a number of Data Analysts to help Operations teams derive quick and actionable insights from their data and offer MIS support to their customers.
However, for the past 3-4 months have also seen a rise in customer complaints about the app being very slow at times. Apps hanging several times have hampered customers’ shopping experience and as a result the CSAT scores have fallen from a superb 4.7/5 to a poor 2.7/5.
This has quickly escalated to the CEO and there have been clear directives to the CTO to investigate and find a fix to this critical issue.
